Danish tanker owner ERRIA has secured a price cut on two newbuildings on order in China.

ERRIA says the chemical tanker market will not be as frosty when the newbuildings arrive.
It will pay EUR 3.2m ($4.5m) less than it originally agreed for the 6,500-dwt vessels being built at Rushan Shipyard, a statement says.
ERRIA director Henrik Andersen explains the delivery of each of the vessels will take place five months later than aggreed when the origianal contract was signed in 2007.
Andersen says the ships will now arrive in July and December of 2011 to co-incide with an anticipated recovery in the chemical tanker market.
“Income from the company’s chemical tankers has been rising since the spring, and it is the company’s expectation that the market from second half of 2011 will be normalised,” a statement to investors said.
Andersen will not be drawn on the original contract price or how much the company will now pay for the ships.
ERRIA has nine chemical tankers in its mixed fleet of more than 30 vessels.
