Vessel: The Chemical Tanker "Ingrid Jakobsen", IMO. 9367217. 6863,5 TDW, owned by K/S Ingrid Jakobsen and managed by ERRIA A/S
Situation: Ingrid Jakobsen has grounded off Florida Keys. Ingrid Jakobsen was enroute to discharge cargo of fuel oil in the mississippi river. While transiting about 13 nm ese of key west due to unproper manoeuvre to avoid collision with the fishing vessel, ingrid jakobsen entered area to be avoided (florida keys) and touched bottom then ran aground after approximately 800 meters.
One crew member has been injured with a broken arm. He will be receiving medical treatment.
There is a visible oil film on the surface. Oil is leaking and a spill of 150 barrels has been reported.
Fishing vessels are currently deploying booms to contain the oil spill. Further a barge is on the way to the vessel to empty the leaking tank.

Action: A barge is in its way QI to the site. Oil booms are being deployed. Company has sent one representative to the site
Weather: the weather in the area was SSW 7 KTS / SWELL DIRECTION: 075° HEIGHT 1,0 MTR
The vessel is registred in St Johns. With a Polish and Philippines crew of 14 men.
